Easy Corn Bread

This is the perfect compliment to any delicious bowl of chili. I will post my fabulous chili recipe one day soon. I hope you enjoy this simple corn bread recipe. It's delicious!


Easy Corn Bread
(recipe from cooks.com)

1 1/4 c all-purpose flour
3/4 c cornmeal
1/4 c sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 c. skim milk
1/4 c vegetable oil
1 egg, beaten

Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease 8 or 9 inch square pan. Combine dry ingredients. Stir in milk, oil, and egg until moistened. Pour into pan. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Okay hubby liked this. We are changing it a little for next time. We will do 1 cup of flour and 1 cup of coen meal. We loved the density of this bread. It was yummy but we need more corn taste. Now bring on a chili recipie. Do you know how much money you just saved me? Prepackaged corn bread is spendy. Thanks!!!
